THE EFFECTIVENESS OF YOUR SUPPLEMENTS
We’re often told that foods today are lacking in nutrients: intensive, commercial farming has depleted the soil and contaminated our produce with pesticides, fungicides, and chemical fertilisers.
Eating organic does help, but even here, there are concerns our food just isn’t as nutritious as it used to be. Hence, the massive growth in dietary supplements.
But are they doing you any good?
The answer is simple: only if they’re absorbed by your body. Interestingly enough, not all supplements are. Here’s a simple way to check this out:
1. Warm some vinegar to blood heat (98.6°F or 37.1°C). You don’t need to be too accurate here. The warm vinegar simulates the acid conditions in your stomach.
2. Drop your supplements into the warm vinegar and give them a stir.
3. Check them again after 30 minutes.
If they’ve dissolved, then you know your body can assimilate them. If not, they’ll pass right through – they’re expensive waste.
The best supplements I’ve found are in a ‘food state’ – natural and readily absorbable by the body.
